About Us

The Performers Educational Plays is an international theatre company producing plays in English.

Three distinctive, high-quality plays are produced annually, each with a different age group and level in mind.

Our ELT material – a set of more than 40 colourfully illustrated activities – fully supports the theatre experience in the classroom.

The teacher is thus able to provide students with details about the plot and the characters before they attend the performance, and also with follow-up language work after the performance.

The teacher can easily download this material and all the songs and dialogues from here.

The Performers Educational Plays has now become the leading English-speaking theatre company in South America and beyond. An unforgettable theatre visit can now be made an integral part of your English language syllabus.

Drama in ELT

An essential tool in the process of teaching and learning a second language

Drama encompasses no only plays that can be seen at the theatre

or read in a literature class, but also the “dramatic” activities

that take place during lessons, such as role-playing, improvisation

and other similar techniques.

All our performances are fully supported by carefully designed material which focuses not only on grammar,

but on all the skills that competent students should develop.

This material serves as a bridge between the drama experience in the theatre and the work of the English

teacher in the classroom. It incorporates the auditory, visual, affective, and kinesthetic learning styles

and will therefore appeal to a wide variety of students.

    All those people from above,
Use the sea like a rubbish dump.
    All those people from above,
Turn the sea into a slum

    Let's clean up the sea!
We can do it, you and me,
We'll make a better place to live!
    All together, cleaning the sea!

    All those people from above,
Use the sea like a rubbish dump.
    All those people from above,
Turn the sea into a slum

    Let's clean up the sea!
We can do it, you and me,
We'll make a better place to live!
    All together, cleaning the sea!

    All those people from above,
Use the sea like a rubbish dump.
    All those people from above,
Turn the sea into a slum

    Let’s clean up the sea!
We can do it, you and me,
We'll make a better place to live!
    All together, cleaning the sea!

    CHLOE & SARAH:
    We need some help!
A shark wants to eat us.
    We need the help
    Of someone we trust

    OLIVER:
    I’m here to help,
So tell me what you need.
    Together we will find,
    A way to succeed.

    CHLOE & SARAH:
    Thank goodness you are here!
    Thank goodness you appeared!
    Save us from the shark!
    Make him disappear!

    ALL:
    Together we must find,
A way to stop this guy,
I know that we can do it,
    If we really try.

    We will stop the shark!
    We will stop the shark!
We will stop! We will stop!
    We will stop the shark!

    HARRY:
    I will eat you!
    You cannot run away!
    You cannot run away!
There is nothing you can do!

    SARAH & CHLOE:
    We are not afraid,
    We are not afraid,
    Oliver, Oliver will save us.

    OLIVER:
    I will defend
    Both of my friends.
    You have no chance,
    I won’t let you advance.

    HARRY:
    You do not scare me,
    You, eight- armed fish,
    Because you too,
Will be part of my dish.

    SARAH & CHLOE:
    We are not afraid,
    We are not afraid,
    Oliver, Oliver will save us.

    OLIVER:
    Why don’t you go,
    Eat somewhere else,
    Don’t bother us,
    Go somewhere else.

    ALL: (2)
    Oh boy, Oh boy
    Oh boy, Oh boy
    The whole day, running away.

    CHLOE:
    We still cannot convince,
The shark to leave us alone.
    The solution to this problem,
    Is still unknown.

    ALL: (2)
    Oh boy, Oh boy
    Oh boy, Oh boy
    The whole day, running away.

    SARAH:
    We are very tired.
We need to get some rest.
We've been cleaning all day long!
    And we are really stressed!

    OLIVER:
    With Harry on our tail,
And all we have to clean,
    We are much too busy,
This is harder than it seems!

    ALL: (2)
    Oh boy, Oh boy
    Oh boy, Oh boy
    The whole day, running away.

    HARRY:
I’m sorry that I tried to eat you
I’m sorry that I scared you.
    Thank you for helping me,
    Thank you for helping me,
Thank you for saving me too.

    ALL:
    We are so happy,
    Everything is fine again,
    We’ve made a new friend.

    OLIVER:
    Now you can help us,
    To clean our home.
    When the people dump
    All the rubbish down below.

    ALL:
We can do it, you and me,
We'll make a better place to live!
    All together, cleaning the sea!

    ALL:
    We are so happy,
    Everything is fine again,
    We’ve made a new friend.

    CHLOE:
I’m glad you don’t want to eat us
And that we can work as a team
I’m glad that we're all friends
And this ocean we will clean!

    SARAH:
    If we think together
We´ll come up with a plan
    To stop all this pollution
    I know that we can.

    ALL:
    We are so happy,
    Everything is fine again,
    We’ve made a new friend.

    ALL: (2)
    Now everything is settled,
    The creatures from above
    Have learnt their lesson.
Because we told them to stop!

    CHLOE & SARAH:
    Working all together,
There is so much we can do,

    HARRY & OLIVER:,
We'll take care of the ocean
    But with your help too!

    ALL: (2)
    Now everything is settled,
    The creatures from above
    Have learnt their lesson.

HYDE: Doris, I need to find something.
    DORIS: What is it, Hyde?
    HYDE: A formula.
    DORIS: What formula?
HYDE: The one my twin has created:
    the “Dual Personality” formula!
DORIS: Dual Personality formula? What is it?
HYDE: A powerful formula that can change people's personality!
DORIS: Well Hyde, I don't know anything about this formula.
    HYDE: Of course you don't!
    DORIS: I don’t understand.
HYDE: Didn’t my twin give you a box to hide?
DORIS: Yes Hyde, he gave me a box to hide.
    HYDE: Where is it?
DORIS: I can't tell you. Dr Jekyll told me…
HYDE: Forget what I told you!
    DORIS: What you told me?
HYDE: I mean… what my brother told you.
DORIS: Why don't you wait for Dr Jekyll?
HYDE: No! Tell me where it is!
DORIS: I don't know ... He told me that ... Well, your brother gave me a box to hide and I put it….
    HYDE: Where? … I mean … Where?
DORIS: Are you ok? What's wrong with your voice? Why are you moving like that?
    HYDE: Nothing … I mean… Nothing is happening…. Happening…
DORIS: You're moving your body like a dancer…
    HYDE: Yes… No… Dance… Dance…
DORIS: Oh! I understand now. You want to dance!
    HYDE: My … My brother… Brother…
DORIS: Wait a moment! We need music!
    HYDE: Music… No… The formula …

    HYDE: Good afternoon, Dr. Smith.
    SMITH: Good afternoon, Mr…
    HYDE: Hyde.
SMITH: Mr. Hyde. What are you doing in my laboratory?
    HYDE: I'm here to propose a deal…
    SMITH: A deal?
HYDE: Yes… A very good deal for you…
    SMITH: I'm listening…
HYDE: We have the same enemy… Dr. Jekyll.
    SMITH: I hate, Dr. Jekyll.
    HYDE: I know that.
    SMITH: You know that? How?
HYDE: Well, I'm very close to Dr. Jekyll and everything that he knows, I know too.
SMITH: Very close… What is the deal?
HYDE: I'll give you his most important creation. The Dual Personality formula!!!!
SMITH: Ha, ha, ha! I'm sorry to inform you that you are too late.
HYDE: Late? What do you mean?
SMITH: I've already stolen this formula! Now, it's mine!
    HYDE: Stolen?
    SMITH: Yeah!
    HYDE: Have you tested it?
SMITH: Yes, on my assistant, Thomas!
    HYDE: Did it work correctly?
    SMITH: Well…
HYDE: Aha! It didn't work correctly! I knew it! I didn't write in my notebook the correct amount to be used! Ha, ha, ha!
SMITH: YOU never wrote it? You?
HYDE: Oh! I'm sorry, Dr. Jekyll never wrote it! Do you want to know the exact amount?
    SMITH: Of course I do!
HYDE: I'll give you the information on one condition… 10 million dollars!!!!!

  • Lyrics

    Every week we meet here,
    Ready for drama class.
    We always come early,
    To talk and have fun.

    We talk about our families,
    We talk about school.
    Sometimes we don’t talk,
    But it’s always really cool!

    Some like love stories,
Some like those full of blood.
    Sometimes they are real stories,
    That really touch our heart.

    Every week we meet here,
    Ready for drama class.
    We always come early,
    To talk and have fun.

This is the story of a man
    and a woman.
    A brave and honest man,
    and a woman.

At the very glorious moment of the life,
    of this man.
    His destiny was her prophecy,
    to that man.

“Very soon you’ll become king!” she said
    to that man.
She greatly enjoyed playing with the life,
    of that man.

This is the story of a man
    and a woman.
    A brave and honest man,
    and a woman.

    I had a nightmare, I had a vision.
    My entire kingdom was destroyed.
I was alone in the middle of nothing.
    Emptiness was my only friend.

I lost everything, I had nothing.
I could not find my daughters.
    Only savage winds, powerful rain,
    Only savage winds, powerful rain,
    dark thunder, and silence, silence.

    I had a nightmare, I had a vision.
    My entire kingdom was destroyed.
I was alone in the middle of nothing.
    Emptiness was my only friend.

Life is crazy. Life is crazy
    He is my boyfriend, now!
Life is crazy, life is crazy
    She is my girlfriend, now!

    We tell lots of stories!
    And we tell them well,
But the best story’s about to start,
Now it´s our story we´re about to tell

Life is crazy. Life is crazy
    He is my boyfriend, now!
Life is crazy, life is crazy
    She is my girlfriend, now!

FRIAR LAURENCE: Hold, then; go home, take this vial, being then in bed and this liquor drink. All your veins shall run cold, for no pulse shall you keep. No warmth, no breath, shall testify you live. The roses in your lips and cheeks shall fade to pale ashes, your eyes' windows fall like death, when he shuts up the day of life. Each part shall, stiff and cold, appear like death. And in this pretended death you shall continue two and forty hours and then awake as from a pleasant sleep. Now, when the bridegroom in the morning comes to rouse you from your bed, there you are, dead: After your funeral, in your best robes you shall be placed in the ancient vault where all the members of the Capulet´s family lie. In the meantime, shall Romeo by my letters know our plan, and hurriedly shall he come: and he and I will watch your waking, and that very night shall Romeo be eternally yours. And this shall free you from this present shame; if no womanish fear, or anything at all decrease your valour in the acting it.
    JULIET: Give me, give me!
FRIAR LAURENCE: Take it and go, be strong and prosperous. I'll send a messenger speedily with my letters to Romeo.
JULIET: Love, give me strength! Farewell, dear father!

MACBETH: My love, your vision was true. Three apparitions met me in the day of success, andI’ve heard from trustworthy sources that their science goes beyond this earth. When I burnt in desire to question them further, they vanished in the air. Astonished as I was, I heard the King’s messengers coming, They hailed me “Thane of Cawdor”, title with which these weird witches had greeted me before, adding ”Hail to you, that shall be king hereafter!”
LADY MACBETH: ¡You are Glamis and Cawdor, and soon you’ll become king! But I fear your nature; it’s too full of the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way. You would like to be great, since you are ambitious, but you lack the instinct of the evil that has to follow.

FAQs

We’d love you
to be part of THE PERFORMERS -
Educational Plays!

For further information
contact our Sales Representative
in your area or send an email
to info@theperformers.net

  • What does the international theatre company THE PERFORMERS offer?

THE PERFORMERS offers an integral educational project that includes three educational plays in English, one for each teaching level: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced, a set of ELT activities especially designed for each play, and more than 20 original songs ready to download from our web page.

  • Which is the difference between THE PERFORMERS and other theatre companies?

THE PERFORMERS provides not only the best educational service, but also a highly artistic and technical level in costume and stage design. All our actors are native speakers.

  • Which play is recommended for each age group?

The Elementary level play is aimed at children from 3 to 8 years old, the Intermediate level play is aimed at students from 9 to 15 years old, and the Advanced level play is aimed at students of 15 years old onwards.
We suggest you read our ELT Material to check if the play you’ve chosen suits your group of students.

  • If my students aren’t able to read or write yet, can they attend the Elementary level play?

Yes! Our ELT Material for that level offers pre and post- performance activities for those students who are still not able to read or write. These activities will allow them to know about the story, its characters and songs through delightful visual and auditory activities and games.

  • Must students who will attend the theatre do the activities from the ELT Material?

Yes, it’s highly recommended. Our ELT Material is the bridge that joins the theatre experience with the work in the classroom, and it is the tool that ensures that the learning process is lasting, sound and meaningful.

  • How is the ELT Material unique?

Our ELT Material includes details of the plot and the contents of each play; a set of Teacher’s Pages to guide you through the activities; 14 colourfully illustrated pre- and post-performance activities ready to download and print; extra activities; an Answer Key for the intermediate and advanced level activities and original songs and dialogues for each play.

  • Why does the ELT Material offer two levels of difficulty (A and B)?

Our ELT Material is divided into two levels - A and B - each covering the four essential skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. This thus allows you to tailor your lessons to your students’ level, age and interests by choosing material from either level A or B, or combining activities from both.

  • When do I have to start working with the ELT Material?

It’s very important for the students to do the pre-performance activities before attending the theatre play. This will allow them to know in advance the vocabulary and structures required for a better comprehension. Then, after the play, we advise you to continue with the post-performance activities to reinforce the contents and thus, the learning process.

  • My students are 15 years old but their level of English is low. Do I choose the Intermediate or the Advanced level play?

It’s always better if the students feel comfortable when they see the play. If you choose the Advanced level play for them, they might not achieve the expected level of comprehension and the theatre experience will be frustrating. We advise you to read carefully the Contents section of each play before selecting the play for your students.

  • How do I gain access to songs and dialogues within each play?

You will be able to listen to and download all the songs and dialogues of each play from our web page to your own computer or to any USB portable devise.

  • How can I make a reservation for my students?

To make a reservation you should first contact the Sales Representative for your area and provide details of the chosen play, the date and time, and the number of students who will attend. Our representative will then check availability, and confirm the reservation on receipt of the advanced payment. Alternatively, you may make a reservation by emailing us at info@theperformers.net.

  • How can I pay for the tickets?

Once a reservation has been made with our Sales Representative, tickets must be paid for in advance through a bank deposit. An advanced payment of 30% of the total amount is required to confirm the reservation and the remainder should be paid 15 days before the performance.

  • Can I buy the tickets at the theatre?

No. Unfortunately this is not possible for administrative and security reasons relating to the theatre’s seating capacity. All tickets should be purchased in advance.

  • Do teachers have to pay tickets?

We advise you to bring one teacher every ten students. These teachers will have free tickets.

  • Can I reserve specific seats for my students at the theatre?

No. The seats will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. We advise you to come to the theatre 15 minutes before the performance.

  • Can I organize a private performance at my school?

Yes, this is possible. You should provide details of the chosen play(s), the dates and times, the number of students expected to attend and the seating capacity of the auditorium, school theatre or SUM. In addition we will require a brief description of the lighting and sound equipment available in the school. Once we have received all this information we will be able to calculate the cost of a private performance.
